Feeding good
First need of a human: I should eat!
And I love it, but I don’t want to have a hard time prepping meals, I want this to be as easy as possible.
Let’s see how I’ve done it!
Cooking

Let’s check my cooking setup
- A basic sink
- A tap
- A two burners gas stove
The sink has one feature I love: it had some space for letting dishes dry, and it has proven to be really usefull!
The tap is hooked to a pump that made it act like a home tap, you open it, water come, no hassle.
The two burner stove has two size, I use the large one to boil water very quickly, and I use the little one for cooking my meals on pan without it becoming coal and smokes.
Food storage
dry food
When you think of storing stuff in a Van, the first thing to look for is the weight repartition.
So my dry food has been separated:
- light dry food, like pasta, cereals, carbs are in two plastic boxes under the sink.
- heavy dry food, cans and glass jar are stored under the couch.

Fresh food storage
Here I got one piece of hardware that is really great!
I got a tabletop fridge that add 48L of space with a 22L freezer compartement!
While it is still small compared to what you got in your home, I can
- store one week of fresh food, drinks, including for now vegetables.
- store a lot of ready to cook frozen meals when I don’t want to spend a lot of time on it
- extra happyness included! I can make ice cubes and store popsicles, and I love pospsicles!

Kitchenware/spice and breakfast practical storage
I really wanted to be able to access easily all my kitchenware, spices and basic coffee and tea too.
I struggled a lot with this space because it is hardly accessible, because of the other furnitures around, and the water tank beneath it.
So I designed a unique piece of furniture made of two vertical drawers, and believe me, it is really practical.
It was hard to build, and to imagine, but I really don’t regret it!

So I have an easy access on all that, but it does more!
- You can choose the slide you want to open directly when opening by the position of your finger, so when you get used to it, it became really instinctive to open it one way or the other.
- It has the same 3Dprinted latch I designed for all my drawers! So when you close it, it stay closed unless you use your finger to open it. No more dishes all over when you turn, you just can’t forget to close it!
- This is also my washroom, feel free to check it on Wash yourself.
All together

While this is minimal, it is really practical and I love it!
It has proven to be effective and easy on a daily use!
I hope you got some nice ideas for your Van build, you can check some other parts of my Van presentation to see more of my simple way of living on the road.
